If you’d like a demonstration or to familiarise yourself with a Gypsy Wheel before buying, it is available for purchase at our distributor’s premises for the same price as it is online.

The Gypsy Wheel is operated only via Bluetooth, so you’ll need a Bluetooth enabled device, such as a smart phone or tablet.  You can have an alternate device to connect to your Gypsy Wheel if you have recorded or can remember the unique PIN No. of your Gypsy Wheel.

Simply download the App to another device and select the “Connect to another device” option when you open the App. It will ask you for your PIN and upon entering it, this new device will connect and work as normal.

The Gypsy Wheel is for when you are loading your caravan for a trip, before you leave. Once you have connected your trailer to your towing vehicle, the Gypsy Wheel is removed and stored and has no weight pushing down on it and therefore no longer reading the weight of your van.

You will need to replace the single AA Battery in your Gypsy Wheel periodically or when it runs out.

Find the small door on your Gypsy Wheel and remove the Phillips Head screw. The door can then be removed and by pulling the ribbon inside, the battery will pop out into your hand. Insert a new AA battery and replace the door and secure it with the screw. We recommend a good quality long life battery as this will give you at least 12-18 months of life under normal use.

Gypsy Wheel - Replacing the Battery

We recommend that when not in use, you remove your Gypsy Wheel from your trailer or caravan and place it into the carry case provided. This should then be stored in a safe, dry place until the next use.

Other than replacing the battery, there is no maintenance requirement for your Gypsy Wheel.

It is self-contained and sealed. Should you encounter any issues, please contact us and we will resolve it the best way we can. See the Warranty Claims tab in our Terms and Conditions should you encounter a fault.

To preserve the battery life, your Gypsy Wheel turns off when you close the App OR even if you toggle away or put it into the background.

As soon as you go from the Gypsy Wheel App to your settings to check the discoverable devices, the Gyspy Wheel instantly turns off and becomes non discoverable.

The formula needs both dimensions to calculate the weight difference between the Jockey Wheel position and your Tow Ball. Check to make sure you didn't miss a measurement and entered only one. In this case, the App will take you back to the front screen and display only the Jockey Wheel weight as it is not possible for the App to calculate the Tow Ball weight.
